CITE25 announces its most international edition focused on the European renewable energy industry
National and international business leaders from wind, solar, energy storage and green hydrogen will speak at the 4th International Congress of the Industry for the Energy Transition, to be held at the Baluarte Conference Centre in Pamplona on 23 October.

Pamplona, 5 June 2025.- On 23 October, the 4th International Congress of the Industry for the Energy Transition (CITE25) will bring together professionals from the wind, solar, energy storage and green hydrogen industries at the Baluarte Conference Centre in Pamplona. They include leading business figures — CEOs and senior executives, most of them international — from some of the sector’s main corporations.
This was announced on Thursday by Iker Chasco, Managing Director of Enercluster, the organiser of this biennial event, which has the special collaboration of the Government of Navarre and is sponsored by Acciona Energía, Nordex Group and Ingeteam as TERApartners; Grupo Enhol, Laulagun Bearings, Nabrawind, Repsol and Sakana Group as GIGApartners; together with ARENA, ARPA Abogados Consultores, Array, Industrial Barranquesa, Beeplanet, EDP Renewables, EOSOL, IED, Grupo Inerzia, Leadernet, Renercycle, Ríos Renovables, Statkraft, Urgon and Energyloop as MEGApartners. «We are at a key moment in the energy transition,» he said.
Along these lines, Chasco explained that CITE25 will address «the major challenges facing the renewable sector in a global context, paying special attention to the new regulations that are setting the course». The congress will also cover «the technological trends that are transforming the industry and, above all, the fundamental role that the European renewable industry plays in a geopolitical scenario as complicated as the current one,» he added.
The Enercluster Managing Director recalled that «there are very ambitious renewable deployment targets in Spain, in Europe and even globally, but this is when the challenges arise». He mentioned the «geopolitical challenges related to tariffs and to global instability in general», as well as those linked to «integrating the large volume of renewables, which is causing price cannibalisation and curtailment at certain times of the day». On top of all this come the challenges of the European supply chain, «with profitability problems and ever-shrinking markets, as well as challenges in the electricity grid, where stability is a hot topic after the recent blackout».
At the same time, Iker Chasco stressed that renewables are «a sector in full growth with great opportunities». «A renewable industry like the one we have in Navarre, based on quality, excellence and innovation, must seize the opportunities arising in mature markets such as wind and solar, and also in emerging sectors such as storage, green hydrogen and circularity,» he said. He closed his presentation by stating that «in this fourth edition, the European renewable industry will have a more prominent role than at any other similar congress in Europe».
For his part, Navarre’s Minister for Industry and for Ecological and Digital Business Transition, Mikel Irujo Amezaga, explained that the Government of Navarre supports and collaborates with this initiative because it represents an industry that «is the third most important in the region, just behind the automotive and agri-food sectors». Irujo highlighted the importance of an activity that, he said, «has a significant industrial network of more than 110 companies which together account for 10% of the region’s industrial employment and a turnover of €4.5 billion, equivalent to 5% of regional GDP».
He also stressed that the Government’s commitment is firm. «Navarre has made a strategic commitment to an energy model that will allow us to be energy sovereign. Every transformation brings challenges, but also opportunities. We must remain firm in our commitment to generating clean energy sources that contribute to a sustainable region and planet. That is how we will be able to face critical moments for the future of the industry, such as the one we are living through right now.»
«In this scenario, we welcome some of the steps taken by the European Commission in the Clean Industrial Deal published at the end of February, such as the introduction, for the first time, of so-called ‘local content’ — that is, certain components must be manufactured in Europe — which ensures that a value chain is maintained in the territory. But we must act now, without excuses. To this end, we are working with Enercluster on a European campaign with other regions where the renewable industry carries significant weight, in order to convey once again to the European institutions the need to act urgently to defend jobs and our industrial base.»
INTERNATIONAL SPEAKERS
The director of CITE25, Kiko Maza, highlighted the high calibre of the speakers at this fourth edition, whose media partners are Navarra Capital, Diario de Noticias and Energética, while the content partners are AEPIBAL, the Spanish Wind Energy Association (AEE) and the Association of Renewable Energy Maintenance Companies (AEMER). «We are privileged to hold this event in Navarre: there is no other event in Spain — and I would venture to say in Europe — that brings together so many key figures from the European renewable industry,» he said.
Maza expects to exceed the figures of the previous edition, held in 2023, with forecasts of more than 400 attendees and more than 45 international experts, almost half of them CEOs of companies in the sector. «It is, without doubt, the most ambitious edition of CITE,» he confirmed. He highlighted the strong presence of international experts and speakers already confirmed, such as Arantza Ezpeleta, CEO of Acciona Energía, and João Costeira, CEO of Repsol Renovables, «both international benchmarks in renewable energy development». He also mentioned José Luis Blanco, CEO of Nordex, «one of the leading European wind turbine manufacturers»; Adolfo Rebollo, CEO of Ingeteam, «a leading manufacturer of power electronics for wind and solar»; Bertrand Lecacheux, CEO of Holosolis, «a company promoting one of the new solar panel gigafactories, to be located in France»; Hervé Amossé, Executive Vice-President of SAFT, «one of the leading European battery manufacturers»; and Michael Larsen, CEO of SM Industries, «a Danish manufacturer of steel towers for wind turbines», among others.
The morning programme will revolve around three CEO round tables — on wind, the European supply chain and renewable project development — as well as an international panel of experts. In the afternoon, themed sessions will address some of the hottest topics in the sector, such as O&M, energy storage, grid integration of renewables and green hydrogen.

Finally, Kiko Maza pointed out that the target audience «is very varied», ranging from professionals in the wind, solar, storage and hydrogen industries to renewable project developers.
